A TAUNTON charity for male victims of domestic violence has received funding to recruit a project worker.

The successful applicant will be paid £6,000 a year for 11 hours a week to set up projects nationwide for the ManKind Initiative.

The Body Shop has just agreed to support the worker with a two-year deal for the charity, whose head offices are in the Municipal Buildings in Corporation Street.

ManKind houses five men in refuges in the South-West and is hoping to establish similar safe houses elsewhere. It also wants to recruit fundraising volunteers.

Contact Stephen Fitzgerald on 01643-863352 or Sue Hoolahan on 01626-775244. The deadline for applications for the project worker role is Wednesday, April 21.
