Chard Town face a tense wait for the Screwfix Direct Western League's April board meeting this Sunday -- as their future could hinge on it.

The league will be discussing the issue of how many, if any, clubs are relegated from Division One, with a number of sides having apparently applied to join from feeder leagues.

And with the Robins struggling badly at the foot of the table, they are likely to be affected by the league's decision.

Chard are working on the assumption they will avoid the drop if they stay out of the bottom two.

But following Easter Monday's 6-0 drubbing at home to Willand they have dropped to third from bottom.

Shepton Mallet are just two points behind but have played a game more, while bottom side Minehead are four points back but have a match in hand.

Two wins from the last three games will ensure their safety, but after taking three points out of a possible 42 that looks unlikely.

Chard's remaining three fixtures are away to Street, home to Calne the following Saturday and home to Wellington the Tuesday after (April 27).
