POLICE across the South-West are joining forces to stop illegal raves.
Officers from the Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire forces have launched Operation Hartley to run in the spring and summer.
Around the time of June's Glastonbury Festival, police in Somerset often find people trying to set up 'alternative' festivals for people without tickets.
Operation Hartley sends out a clear message that the gatherings will not be tolerated and anybody who doesn't have a ticket for the Glastonbury Festival should stay away.
DI Ben Batley said: "Our priority is to ensure that our communities are not inconvenienced or disrupted by illegal gatherings. Unsanctioned festivals are unsafe and illegal, you will not be allowed to set them up."
