POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses following a serious assault at the Ham Hill Country Park at Stoke-sub-Hamdon which left a man with facial injuries.

The victim left a nightclub in Stars Lane, Yeovil, on Wednesday, April 14, at 1am with three other men and a woman he met in the club. He offered to give them a lift home.

The female went off while the three men got in the victim's car - a new blue Renault Megane.

One of the men then suggested to the victim that they go to a local beauty spot and the victim was directed to Ham Hill, where he parked the car.

As he got out to look at the view, the three men repeatedly assaulted him. They then demanded his car keys and drove off in the car. It has not been seen since.

The victim suffered facial injuries including a fractured cheek and eye socket, cuts and bruising. He was later released from Yeovil District Hospital.

Police have described the three suspects as white men aged 22-23 years, between 5ft 8ins-5ft 9ins tall.

The first was of medium build with tidy blonde hair kicked up at the front with tatooes on both arms and wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

The second had short black hair was of slim build, wearing a white shirt with blue vertical and horizontal lines over the top of a white T-shirt, jeans and white training shoes.

The third man had black hair brushed to the centre and was wearing a white T-shirt containing a motif of a Model T Ford car, baggy brown trousers with a white and blue stripe down the sides.

The police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the group, especially in or outside the club in Yeovil.
