BATTLE lines are being drawn ahead of a crucial meeting on the future of Wellington's northern relief road.
The Somerset County Gazette's Fighting for Wellington campaign has almost 1,000 signatures backing plans to free the town centre from heavy traffic.
But Taunton Deane Council has been branded as "arrogant" and "patronising" as it prepares to rubber stamp the deletion of development plans for Longforth Farm - including the relief road - on Tuesday.
Wellington Town Council chairman and the Deane's LibDem opposition leader, Cllr Ross Henley made the blistering attack following remarks made by Deane leader Cllr John Williams, ahead of the meeting.
