AN auction of promises is being held next Friday (April 23) to raise funds for the £500,000 tower appeal at St Mary's Church, Bishops Lydeard.
People will be able to bid for 44 promises ranging from tea for two in the House of Commons to a vintage car mystery tour with a champagne picnic, or a pair of Cliff Richard's socks.
The event, at 7pm in the village hall, also includes a three-course dinner, raffle, free glass of bubbly and a licensed bar, with tickets costing £12.50 each.
