A Wellington woman whose life was saved by the Devon Air Ambulance said a big thank-you by handing over a whopping £900 to the charity this week.
Anne Halliwell, of Barn Meads Road, was involved in the near-fatal accident in Tiverton, on August 1, 2002, when she was knocked down while walking on the pavement and trapped under a car.
Fortunately, a passer-by managed to jack the car up sufficiently to stop it crushing her until the fire brigade arrived and released her.
She was then flown by helicopter to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery, followed by four days in intensive care.
