SOMERSET'S farming community and police have been on a crime crackdown this week.
Officers have been involved in Operation Glide, which aims to stop a £5 million-a-year trade in plant and industrial machinery throughout the Avon and Somerset force area.
And they warned anyone trying to buy or sell stolen goods at agricultural trade shows that they will be caught.
The police have been working with farmers, insurers and auctioneers to catch crooks red handed at a major agricultural machinery auction at Walford Cross, on the A38, between Taunton and Bridgwater.
