GIFTED golfer Jamie O'Hara created a little bit of history at Budock Vean on Sunday when he became the first player to break gross 60 in an official competition.

Playing partner Tony Ramsden, golf manager, said: "When Jamie birdied each of the first four holes you knew this was going to be something special."

At the end of the day Jamie had carded eight pars and 10 birdies for a flawless 58 gross!

Needless to say he smashed his own course record of 62 and the record of 61 achieved by Richard Sadler before the course was lengthened.

Richard of course went on to a fine professional career as did James Dumbreck (Tehidy Bay) and Paul Martin (Carlyon Bay). Nobody at Budock Vean would be surprised to see Jamie joining the professional game shortly.

Meanwhile Mae Brown won the LGU medal with a fine nett 66 with a net 68 and third was Olga Davies also with a nett 68.
