A 42-YEAR OLD man taken to hospital with knife wounds to his hand yesterday praised a policewoman for her quick response following an incident at his home in Penryn.
Steve Parker (pictured above), who lives in West Street with his partner, Jessica Bray and her two young daughters from a previous relationship, said the incident occurred after he responded to an "almighty bang" on the front door.
He said there was a struggle with a man who entered his house and this is when his hand was injured.
Falmouth WPC Lisa Kevern, who was already investigating reports that a man with a knife had been seen in the area, arrived at the scene and overpowered the suspect.
More police officers quickly arrived at the scene and a 43-year-old man was arrested. He was taken to Camborne police station after being seen by a doctor.
