THERE was a meeting of two successful Yeovil sports clubs on Saturday when members of the championship-winning Ivel Barbarians Rugby Club were guests of honour at Yeovil Town FC's Huish Park stadium.

The Ivel players received a great reception from the football followers of the Glovers during the half-time interval of Yeovil's Nationwide League Division Three match with Cheltenham Town.

Following on from last year's Nationwide Conference success for Yeovil at football, Ivel Barbarians have this season taken title honours in the Southern Counties South League at rugby.

The Ivel club is now looking forward to this Monday (April 19) when the Webb Ellis Trophy, which England so brilliantly won during last year's World Cup in Australia, will be on display during the morning.

Yeovil Town chairman John Fry congratulated Ivel Barbarians captain Martin Jakes at Huish Park on Saturday along with other members of the championship-winning rugby club.
