Yeovil Town mascot, the Jolly Green Giant, has thanked supporters for their 'warm' reception last Saturday.
It was the first time the Jolly Green Giant had been seen at Huish Park since the Yeovil Express ran its April Fool's Day joke on April 1 claiming the mascot had to appear before an FA disciplinary committee on a charge of frightening children.
Although the mascot had received plenty of flak from supporters following the release of the story, many of whom believed the made-up accusations 100 per cent, his tour of the stadium before Saturday's match with Cheltenham Town went smoothly.
But the Jolly Green Giant requested that club commercial manager Dave Linney made a public announcement before the game stating that he was innocent of any wrong doing!
