A STOPPAGE time goal by Lee Thompson condemned Yeovil Town to a hugely-disappointing 3-2 defeat at Boston United yesterday (Monday) in the Nationwide League Division Three.

Former Boston player Simon Weatherstone had given Yeovil a great start when he broke the deadlock in the fourth minute with a super goal on his dream return to York Street.

But goals by Kevan Hurst and David Noble enabled Boston to go into the interval leading 2-1 as Yeovil began to run out of ideas.

Yeovil, however, bounced back strongly in the second period and pulverised the home team and Adam Stansfield drew level in the 51st minute with a well-taken goal.

Gavin Williams then missed a re-taken spot kick for the Glovers, Stansfield hit the post and a number of chances came and went for Yeovil in a frustrating afternoon in Lincolnshire.

But as time ticked away, Thompson broke Yeovil's offside trap and raced through to plant a good strike past Glovers' keeper Steve Collis.

Yeovil still find themselves in ninth spot, but boss Gary Johnson has not given up on the chance of a play-off spot finish with five games remaining.
