PUPILS at Hatch Beauchamp Primary School recently enjoyed two days of celebrations to mark the school's 150th anniversary.
Hatch vicar Rev Keith Powell conducted a service at St John's Church to launch the landmark occasion.
Children took part in two performances of a pageant of song and dance written by members of staff with sketches by pupils charting the history of the school.
The church also donated a wooden plaque to the school carved by villager Joe Holt.
Lay church reader Clive Hayward and reader Daphne Chelton gave blessings, and the Friends of the school presented all the youngsters and teachers with commemorative mugs.
The fun was rounded off with country dancing and a mini musical in the playground leading into the summer fair, which raised about £650 for school funds.
Acting head teacher Richard Llewellyn said: "We had a brilliant time. The history topic throughout the term has involved looking at 150 years of the school."
