Yeovil Town's opening match of their tour of Belgium and Germany tonight (Friday) is ON - despite suggestions that the game may be cancelled.

Club press officer Adrian Hopper revealed this morning that officials from Sporting Lokeren were actively searching for a venue for the game following problems at their ground.

The team travel to Germany on Sunday to face Oberhausen Kickers at the Landwehr Stadium with a 3pm kick-off.

The Glovers are back in Belgium on Monday when they take on Royal Antwerp at the Wuzwzell Stadium with a 7pm kick-off.

And the four-match tour ends next Wednesday (July 9) with a game against Geminal Beerschot at the Wijnegem Stadium with a 6pm kick-off.

A healthy contingent of Yeovil Town fans are expected to support the team on the continent with most staying in Antwerp for the week.

Yeovil boss Gary Johnson said he and his players were looking forward to the tour.

"The lads are fit and they are in such good shape that I think they'll all be able to cope with an hour each in the four matches over Belgium and Germany," he said.

"The tour is going to be good for us because we'll be able to concentrate solely on football before returning for our domestic pre-season friendlies.
