Nathan Pascoe, from Sithney, was described as a "very committed and enthusiastic student" when he collected the award for top student at Duchy College's annual prize day.
Twenty-year-old Nathan, who is studying on a two-year, part-time agriculture service engineering City & Guilds Part Three course, was one of 240 students attending the awards ceremony. Now in its tenth year, the event saw students, parents friends and industry representatives travelling from all over the UK to attend.
Nathan was presented with his trophy by Mr Bill Bawden, the recently retired director of the Objective One executive, who was guest of honour.
Acting head of engineering at Duchy College, Rosewarne, Brian Kessel commented: "Nathan is a very committed and enthusiastic student who is happy to tackle any challenge that comes his way. He consistently produces work of a very high standard and it was a pleasure to see him win the prize for overall student of the year."
