A weekend of events at Maenporth Beach raised £750 for the RNLI as well as getting over vital sea and beach safety information.
RNLI spokesman Dave Nicholl was delighted by the success of the weekend, especially as the weather forecast might have put many people off.
There were kayaking and surfing demonstrations, a tug o' war, won by the local Coastguard team, and a clown workshop among many attractions.
The RNLI beach safety caravan was on site, offering information which had obviously not been followed by two 16-year-olds who became stranded on cliffs during the event and who had to be rescued by Falmouth inshore lifeboat.
"I'd like to say thank you to everybody who attended and the people who donated items for the auction," said Mr Nicholl. "It was a very friendly, fun weekend."
He also thanked sponsors who supported the activities and added that plans were already underway for a bigger and better weekend in 2004, possibly including a firework display.
