A VEIL of secrecy surrounding drug misuse in Chard has left the family of drug addict Duncan Ping with a string of unanswered questions about his death.

Duncan's sisters, Lucy and Geraldine, left no stone unturned in the search for the truth about the 23-year-old's sudden collapse and death in Henson Park on January 21 - a day after he was released from Exeter Prison.

They exercised their right to question witness statements given to police and, during an inquest last week, branded one of them, Stuart Clarke, a liar.

Clarke was said to be in remand in Dorchester Prison at the time of the inquest, and had a statement read out, while another key witness to the inquest is believed to have moved abroad.

Duncan's father said: "How can any of them call each other friends?"
