Yesterday afternoon police named the 31-year-old woman found dead in a lane near the Fox and Hounds pub at Comford in the early hours of Tuesday morning. She was Kirsty Creba, whose body was found in a lane leading to Gwennap Church, just 100 yards from the Falmouth to Redruth road. The previous evening she had been in the Fox and Hounds pub run by landlord John Milan, and where there had been a quiz night. Police confirmed that the 37-year-old husband of the woman was later arrested in connection with the incident but the cause of death had still not been fully established. It was breakfast time on Tuesday when police sealed off the small country lane which leads to Gwennap Church. Forensic officers were called to carry out an extensive examination of the verge area between the road and a small stream. Insp Mike Ward of Devon and Cornwall police told the Packet police were anxious to trace the driver, or occupants, of a white van which was flagged down by a male person outside the Fox and Hounds pub at around 6am on Tuesday morning. They were also keen to trace a dark coloured pick-up truck and any witnesses who saw two people arguing outside the pub on Monday night or in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Mr Milan said the incident had horrified everyone at the pub. "I'm just horrified that it happened so close to the pub to people who are our regulars."
