Over the next five weeks ten groups of students from Falmouth Community School will have the opportunity to spend a day on the training ship Hardiesse.
The trips are financed by the town council, local companies Stralfors and Pendennis Shipyard and The Activas Programme for outdoor activities.
Falmouth's programme is organised by maths teacher Mike White. The resident crew, Chris Stone and Alan Keeble will put the students through their paces with exercises such as crossing from stern to bow without touching deck. Some get to scale the dizzy heights of the mast.
It is a memorable and character building day for all concerned.
