HUNTSPILL threw off the cloak of mediocrity to record their first win of the season, over high-flying Wanderers, in a scintillating game at New Road on Saturday.
On a hot, sunny day, home skipper Dave Amesbury had no hesitation in choosing to bat first on a good-looking surface.
Despite the early loss of Andy Bryant, Rob Allison and Craig Slack made a brisk start, with 36 runs added in the first seven overs, before Slack, having scored 15, played one shot too many and was bowled.
