FALMOUTH Cricket Club's Ist XI may be stealing all the limelight as they currently head the ECB Premiership League, but on Sunday it was the turn of two youngsters to grab the spotlight after their amazing feat for Falmouth IVs against Mawnan 2nd XI in the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall League division seven match.

Taking first knock, Falmouth rattled up the impressive total of 282 for two, a total for which two players, Daniel Knowles and Daniel Hadley, were largely responsible with magnificent centuries.

Daniel Hadley, who is in his early 20s, opened the batting and stayed at the crease for three hours and seven minutes.

During his knock he faced 134 balls and hammered 13 fours before he decided to retire unbeaten on 111.

Daniel Knowles, aged 18, who is also a talented footballer, went in at number three and batted for two hours 43 minutes whilst accumulating 113 runs before he was eventually caught.

His 113 came from just 100 balls with 15 shots being despatched to the boundary for four and another two being hit for six.

The partnership was worth 210 runs, almost certainly a club record, and one which surely will take some beating.

Mawnan were never able to match Falmouth's total, but even so showed plenty of defiance to finish their innings with just six wickets down for 119 runs.
