Amateur radio enthusiast Michael Prowse, from Penryn, will be keeping shortwave listeners up-to-date on the visit of a special tall ship to Falmouth Docks over the next few weeks.
Mr Prowse, who stays in contact with the mixed-ability crew of the Tenacious by way of a radio station set up at his home in Woodland Avenue, will send out hourly reports about the ship during its stay in Falmouth on July 19 and 20.
The ship, operated by The Jubilee Sailing Trust, was designed and built at a cost of £19.2 million pounds to cater for disabled as well as able-bodied sailors.
It spends the winter sailing around the Canary Islands, but upon the arrival of warmer weather heads north.
Shortwave listeners who want to visit the vessel or find out about its progress can tune into Mr Prowse, who will send out the call of GB1 JST on shortwave 145.350 every hour on the hour.
