YOUR Chard and Ilminster News has been hailed as one of the best weekly Newspapers in the country.
It was commended at a national awards ceremony held in London on June 19 after being shortlisted as publisher Newsquest's Weekly Newspaper of the Year (under 64 pages).
An independent judge described the News as 'a tight, hard hitting, bright and breezy tabloid ... in the main well written and , given its coverage of tragic events, clearly trusted by the community it serves."
he went on to describe News reporters as 'good writers who are not afraid to experiment with a different approach to hard and soft news ... clearly an enthusiastic and competitive team of writers.'
