BURNHAM and Berrow golfer, Lee Corfield, defends his Lytham Trophy title this weekend knowing that he needs to put in an outstanding performance.
The 20-year-old from Brent Knoll, a brilliant winner over the Open Championship course of Royal Lytham last year, wants to be in the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team against the USA at Ganton in the autumn.
So far his season has been hit by injury and personal problems and although he has kept his place in England's Elite Squad, he has been named only as a non-travelling reserve for the international against Spain this month.
