It was needles at the ready at Godolphin House in Helston last week as a group of keen fundraisers took part in a countywide sponsored knit-in aid of the British Red Cross Society.
Godolphin House handyman Michael Seeney - the only male who volunteered to take up the challenge - gamely kept going for the allotted hour, producing around an inch of somewhat holey knitting.
He was joined in his efforts by staff from the care home and residents including 94-year-old Lil Donnithorne and 85-year-old Enid Hosking.
The most productive knitter was Barbara Binns, one of the Good Companions from the Light and Life Free Methodist Church who regularly visit the home.
Now in its eighth year, the Great Cornish Knit-In in aid of the Red Cross raises funds towards providing care in crisis to people at home and abroad.
For the last two years, knitters at Godolphin House have raised more money than any other group in Cornwall taking part in the event.
