THERE is good news for young Somerset batsman Neil Edwards who was back at the County Ground working in the office this week.

Neil, who hails from Penzance, was picked for the England Under-19 tour to Australia earlier in the autumn but the trip appeared to be in jeopardy when he was diagnosed with glandular fever last month.

Thankfully the left-handed opener has made a good recovery and the tour 'down under' is now back on the cards.

The young player said: "I have been back to the doctor and he has given me the all clear to start training again.

"I have been in contact with Paul Farbrace the England Under-19 coach to let him know and the trip to Australia is now on. Of course, I am absolutely delighted and looking forward to it immensely."

Somerset chief executive Peter Anderson said: "This is great news and will give a lift to everyone, especially the girls in the office where he is a popular member of the staff."
