This fixture at Highbridge on Wednesday night promised to be a classic speedway match. It certainly lived up to expectations, with Sheffield just edging the win they needed to continue their challenge for the Premier League title.
On the night, Somerset gave their all and more than matched the Tigers. But, once again, in the final analysis, they were let down by their reserves, who took only four points compared with the ten of their Sheffield counterparts.
Rebels' Mario Jirout and Graeme Gordon started with a fine 4-2.
