SCIENTISTS have warned that the Somerset Levels are at risk from any potential outbreak of the killer disease malaria.
Global warming has raised the likelihood of Britain becoming victim to outbreaks of the tropical disease, which is carried by mosquitoes.
And the Somerset Levels, because of the warm, damp conditions are among the areas at greatest risk, according to the Department of Health report.
