A DEVASTATING spell of seam bowling by teenager Andrew Sochon helped Chard to their second successive victory in the Bristol and Somerset Division of the West of England Cricket League on Saturday (June 15) against Wellington.
When Chard skipper Andy Bond won the toss for the first time this season, it seemed to spur his side on. They never looked back and had Wellington on the back foot with some good seam bowling. Wellington were all out for 89, while Chard completed the target with the loss of only three wickets.
Chard entertain Glastonbury on Saturday (June 22) amd will have added incentive as last year's skipper Mark Tilley, an outstanding all-rounder, will be playing for the visitors.
