WELLINGTON'S dry ski slope has been closed indefinitely due to repeated vandalism.
Taunton Deane Council took the decision last week after more damage to the matting and theft of the slope's vital tow rope.
All bookings have been cancelled and the local authority says it will not re-open the facility unless an effective means of protecting it can be found.
"We've spent a lot of money making the sports centre a good place to go, but because of this vandalism it's being spoilt," said Ross Henley, Deane Council Cabinet member for leisure.
"Youth vandalism is an ongoing problem in all towns and we'll have to address it."
