POLICE have confirmed that a body found in a field in Coat near Martock is that of missing person David Hamish Stewart.
The body was discovered by a member of the public on August 1.
Mr Stewart, aged 72, went missing on May 23 from Kingsbury Episcopi.
Police carried out extensive enquiries to try and trace Mr Stewart and searches were carried out by the force's underwater search team and the mounted section.
A post mortem has been carried out and his death is not being treated as suspicious and is in the hands of the coroner.
Police would like to thank the public and the media for their help to try and trace Mr Stewart.
