TWENTY young Motocross riders from across Cornwall were selected by Cornwall Schoolboy Scramble Club's team managers to represent Cornwall at the National Motocross Team Event.
The two-day event, hosted by last year's winners, The Cotswolds Motocross Club attracted 340 riders from all over Britain as they converged at Bromyard, Herefordshire.
On Saturday the rain came down, making the track so slippery even Torvil and Dean would have struggled to get round; Sunday's racing was fast and furious.
The Cornish boys performed well in all classes, taking Team Cornwall to a top ten finish overall. Now ranked ninth in the country, Cornwall SSC have qualified for a reserved acceptance at next year's national team event.
Selected 2005 team riders are - Juniors 65cc: Bradley Maddever, Jack Gribble, Jack Blackburn, Kieran Jones. 85cc (small wheel): Joshua Bath, Liam Curtis-Stevens, Dwayne Richards, Darren Toy. 85cc (big wheel): Wayne Back, Daniel Gilbert, Guy Jacobs, Callum Walker. 125cc Seniors: Michael Williams, Michael Vennor, Wayne Jacobs, Leon Burt. AMX Adult: Seb Bartlett, James Williams, Simon Matta, Johnny Hawkins.
