PORTLOE, the winning village in the 2005 Cornwall Best Kept Village competition has been honoured at a presentation event.
Stuart Cook of Calor presented representatives of Portloe - Cornwall's 2005 Best Kept Village - with a framed certificate in recognition of the community's success. The village was also presented with an engraved slate plaque from the CPRE Cornwall.
The competition is organised by the Cornwall branch of the CPRE, Campaign to Protect Rural England.
It focuses on the community spirit which is highlighted through a village's well kept environment, and celebrates communities pulling together making the most of what they've got for the benefit of all residents; it is judged by representatives of the Cornwall Federation of Women's Institutes.
