TWO kittens dumped outside the Tesco store in Redruth in a cardboard box are looking for new homes after being rescued by local vets Usher and Edwards.

The practice in Drump Road, Redruth, sent down a nurse after receiving a call for help from worried Tesco staff who had been given their number by Cornwall Animal Hospital which said it couldn't take them.

The two kittens are around 12 weeks old, are said to be in good health and have been well looked after. Staff said the kittens were very friendly but really hungry.

They will now be held in quarantine for seven days before they are allowed to leave.

Practice manager Pauline Edwards said: "Somebody left these kittens in a box at Tesco so we sent one of our nurses down to collect them. Once they have been quarantined then we will try to rehome them."
