A PLAN to build 12 bungalows at the end of Cedar Close in Chard is due to be approved today (Wednesday).
Members of South Somerset District Council's Area West Committee will be recommended to approve the application from developer M.J.Jeanes.
The site was originally part of a no-development area but is now within Chard's defined development area.
The council has received nine letters and a petition of 51 names objecting to the plan.
Objectors cite reasons including increased traffic along Cedar Close, removal of three trees, overlooking of existing properties and the impact on wildlife.
Chard Town Council has not commented on the application as it owns a ransom strip off Cedar Close that is needed to access the development.
