Ilminster councillors Kim Turner and Margaret Excell are calling on residents to attend a meeting on Sunday to discuss the future of the British Red Cross hut in Wharf Lane.
Both are hopeful that the building, which is owned by the Ilminster Education Foundation, could be retained for use by the community.
Kim Turner said: "We want to make sure the building is still used by the community and we want as many people who have an interest in the building to come to our meeting to give us support."
Sunday's meeting will be held at The British Red Cross building at 7pm.
