A DEFECTIVE electrical heater was to blame for a house fire in Chard on Sunday, say firefighters.
Two fire engines from Chard were called to a house in Furzehill at about 1.15pm and on arrival they discovered a small amount of smoke in the property.
Investigations established the cause was a defective electrical heater, which firefighters disconnected and removed. There was light smoke damage to the room affected.
