It would seem that the very public rebuke of Charlotte Mackenzie from her own Labour party executive has not dimmed her fetish for poisoned pen letters (shame). So if Charlotte can no longer be thought of as speaking for the Labour Party who exactly does she speak for?

How can somebody who would (and did) put herself forward for a Cornish parliamentary seat completely ignore the fact that Gordon Brown is planning to change the rules concerning Objective One match funding? If Gordon gets his way, the British government will halve its match funding from 50% to just 25%. In effect Cornwall will receive hundreds of millions of pounds less, due entirely to a decision made by Labour's Chancellor (hence Robin Hood in reverse, December 28) - a decision which, presumably, Charlotte supports. She is very loyal to Labour after all, even if they aren't loyal to her.

Labour is bad for Cornwall, which is why they are beaten time and again at the polls. However you twist and turn, Gordon's plans are a matter of public record - fact, not fantasy - which puts Charlotte's accusation of political hypocrisy into context, does it not?
