I WENT to a meeting of the Helston town council on Thursday to make them aware of a parking problem I am getting outside my town house. Although they were unable to solve the problem themselves, they were helpful and agreed to take what action they could.

However, I was surprised by the action of two members of the Helston town council. One had an item on the agenda and didn't even bother to turn up and the second member absolutely astounded me by saying eight minutes after the meeting had opened he had to leave to go to a party. How on earth can these members represent the people that elected them? I think they should resign and allow someone else to take over who has the interest of Helston at heart.
