A Man from Camborne who died after a road accident on the A30 near to St Erth on Monday has been identified.

Police have identified the man as Frank Cooper, 72, of Higher Enys Road, Camborne, who was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital after the accident with head injuries and later died.

The accident happened at around 1.40pm on Monday January 23 when emergency services were called to a two vehicle collision on the A30 near its junction to St Erth.

The vehicles involved were a blue Transit van, driven buy a 32-year-old driver and a silver Nissan which was being driven by Mr Cooper.

When Mr Cooper was taken to the hospital his injuries were not thought to be life threatening, but depsite the best efforts of the medical team his condition deteriorated.

The road was closed from St Erth roundabout to Causeway, also Chenhalls Road and Carnsew Road were closed and a collision investigators were at the scene.
