THE first few minutes of a baby's life are extremely precious and when married couple Matt and Lottie Dymock had their first child Harry they recorded his on a DVD camcorder.
But the Penryn couple, both 30, were devastated when the day before Harry and his mum were due to come home for the first time, thieves broke into their house in Helston Road and stole the Sony camcorder with the irreplaceable images on it.
This week Mr Dymock, 30, appealed for the thieves to return the pictures on the camcorder even if they just posted the DVD through the letterbox.
Speaking to the Packet at his home on Monday Mr Dymock said the burglary, which he'd discovered on Saturday morning when he came downstairs and found the back door open, had been very upsetting for them both and marred what should have been a very special occasion.
"Lottie rang me up on Saturday to see when I was coming to pick her up to bring Harry home and I was here with the police in tears. I had to explain to her what had happened.
"She was pretty emotional in hospital but once we got home everything else just took over. The DVD recorder probably had the first 15 minutes of Harry's life on it
"It's very upsetting to think they were in the house while I was upstairs sleeping and they are not big houses. But the family have rallied around and there have been a lot of people here.
"I would just ask whoever has the recorder to just post the DVD back through the letter box, that's the most important thing. We just want the pictures back."
