FORMER Chard Mayor Tony Prior has been blocked from joining the town council's amenities and finance committees.
At last Monday night's meeting, Cllr Prior, who is also chairman of the planning committee, attempted to become a voting member of the council's amenities committee and its finance, personnel and licensing committee.
Councillors eventually voted to refuse the move by nine votes to three.
