COLOURFUL and wacky characters braved the muddy fields for Court Fields Community School's annual fun run.

Over 900 students took part in the fancy dress event, which saw Father Christmas, angels and witches donning their trainers and racing around the course in Wellington.

The fun run is held every year to raise money for charity and although grey clouds and rain plagued the event, it failed to dampen the spirits of the fund-raisers.

Each year group had an hour to run or walk the course and winners were awarded prizes for their performances and costumes.

Money is still being collected but funds will be going towards sports charities and new sports equipment for the school.
