A WOMAN was the victim an alleged rape in Taunton early yesterday morning (Wednesday).
At around 5.20am, a 25-year-old woman was walking in the Creechbarrow Road area close to the Asda supermarket when she is believed to have been attacked by an unknown man in a grassed area.
Allegedly,the woman was then assaulted before being raped on the grassed land.
Soon after she raised the alarm.
Detectives are carrying out extensive enquiries into the rape, but are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
