POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses after a member of staff at a village primary school was confronted by a knife-wielding burglar and his accomplice.

The employee came face to face with two teenage men standing in the fire doorway after he entered a temporary classroom at Thurlbear Primary School.

He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie, with the hood up, dark gloves, dark combat style trousers with several pockets and a dark scarf covering the lower half of his face.

The other man was white, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall and of medium build.

He was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, a dark scarf covering the lower half of his face, dark trousers and gloves.
