West Somerset Community College is giving a Ugandan exchange group a taste of life in the West Country.

The group arrived for their two-week visit from the African secondary school last Friday.

Teachers Natiigo Katende, Musinguzi Julius and Kemigisa Primrose with student Basemera Madiina, spent the weekend at the Urban Voice concert at the Regal Theatre and went to Alcombe Methodist Church.

Their school week began with fish and chips on the beach.

The visitors will also go to a Fairtrade garden party with Cream Tea, take a trip to Exmoor Safari and play skittles.

The exchange project is being funded by the British Council as a global curriculum project, together with support from the community.

On July 10, the party will leave for Uganda with West Somerset Community College teachers and students, who will be shown the country's wildlife and visit a tea grower's factory, which exports Fairtrade tea.
