COOKING fat from a roast dinner was blamed for a fire in Chestnut Close, Wellington, this afternoon.
Two fire engines from Wellington were called to the home shortly after midday.
The oven on the premises suffered 50% damage, and crews confirmed the blaze was caused by cooking fat from a roast dinner.
The crews extinguished the fire using a CO2 fire extinguisher and one hose reel jet.
There were smoke detectors fitted at the property and they activated.
