AMATEUR cooks are being asked to dish up their favourite family recipes for a charity cookbook to raise money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Dab hands in the kitchen are being called on to upload their best breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack recipes to a special website – click on the Eat Together link on this story to see how to do it.
Around 30 will be chosen for the book, to be published this summer - it will also include some contributions from well-known local chefs.
Tracy Bartram, the charity’s communications manager, said: “We really want supporters of the air ambulance to get involved in this appeal for recipes.
“It would be great if people could go online and help us out by uploading their favourite family dishes, which in turn will help us to raise funds to keep the air ambulance flying.”
The cookbook comes at the end of the Cornish Mutual campaign ‘Come Together, Eat Together’, fronted by TV presenter Anthea Turner to get families to sit down to meals together.
Alan Goddard, managing director of Cornish Mutual, said: “We really want to raise as much money as possible through the sale of the cookbook, so we’re hopeful that people will want to get involved to help us do that.
“We’re looking for favourite traditional, homemade family recipes that stand the test of time or might well have been handed down over generations, dishes and meals families can prepare easily.”
