STUDENTS from six primary schools joined Bishop Fox’s Community School for an enterprise challenge day to develop their business skills.
The primary schools that took part in the event were Blackbrook, Thurlbear, North Town, Archbishop Cranmer, Holy Trinity and St George’s.
Each group chose an issue to address and made a presentation to parents and teachers with support from Bishop Fox’s year seven form captains Business Ambassadors from HSBC, Young Enterprise and Taunton Chamber of Commerce.
The winning team, from North Town, won a laptop sponsored by IDN, a local IT service business.
Steve Summerill, assistant head teacher, said: “It is really important to give the opportunity to students in primary schools the opportunity to develop business and enterprise skills and it is good to give the day an element of competition. This type of event is good for our school as our year seven students develop leadership skills throughout the day.”
